Obituary For Edith Buzeyn Nelson
Edith Buzeyn Nelson, 97, Rapid City (she did spend the last few months with her daughter in Thomas, OK), went home to her Lord on Tuesday, May 17, 2016. Edith Evelyn Tilbury was born October 30, 1918 in Canby, Minnesota to George and Hazel (Bates) Tilbury. At the age of nine, she moved with her family to Huron, SD where she grew to a young lady and received her education, graduating from DeSmet High School. Edith married Frank Buzeyn on June 10, 1937. They continued to live in the Huron area and Edith spent her time helping her husband in their business of Frank’s Feed and Seed Store and raising their two children Ronald Clio and Sharon Rae. After the children left home, Frank and Edith sold their business and started to travel in their motor home, returning to the Black Hills of South Dakota in 1973. Frank worked for the State Game and Fish Department and Edith taught school. In 1979 they retired again and started traveling once again, ending up in the Valley of Texas where they managed mobile and RV parks. After one year in Texas, Frank passed away on March 11, 1980. Edith continued to manage parks in the Texas Valley for ten years. She married Raymond R. Nelson of Fort Collins, CO on April 27, 1981. They continued managing parks during the winter months and traveling during the summer months. They enjoyed fishing in the mountains, going to World Fairs and taking cruises. Raymond and Edith moved to Louisville, CO in 1989 to be near their families. Lost for something to do for entertainment they returned to Donna, TX in 1993, where they enjoyed all senior entertainment, playing shuffleboard, pool, dancing and etc in the recreational halls. Edith was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Donna, TX; the Benevolent Patriotic Order of the Does #33 in Rapid City; the Rapid City Women of the Moose and she was an active member of all activities in their senior park. They later returned to Louisville, CO after the death of her step-daughter, Marilyn Faye in May 2002 to make their home with her step-son-in-law Donald McCallum. On October 1, 2003, they moved to Apache Junction, AZ, and she later returned to Rapid City. She is survived by her son Ronald Buzeyn and his wife Beverly, Mesa, AZ; her daughter Shari Dougherty and her husband Mike, Thomas, OK; her step-son, Ralph Nelson, Henderson, NV; nine grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; 10 great-great grandchildren; three sisters, June Hoeye, Sioux Falls; Carol McKillop, Gillette, WY and Helen Button, Mitchell; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends. She is preceded in death by her first husband Frank Buzeyn, her second husband Raymond Nelson; her parents, three sisters, Eva Terry, Delores Carr and Avis Turner; two brothers Clifford Tilbury and Gerald Tilbury and four brothers-in-law, Patrick Hoeye, Bill Terry, Willie Boehnen and Larry Voss.
