Obituary For Edith Hansen
Edith Rose Hansen, 90, passed October 18, 2016 in her home at Rapid City, SD. She was born February 25, 1926 in Pukwana, SD to Floyd and Pearl Clutter. She grew up on a farm in the East River area and was married to Harold E. Hansen on April 5, 1947 at Brookings, SD. In her long life she was a licensed beautician; attended college in Huron, SD; a dietitian in a nursing home in Huron, SD; a proof reader for a newspaper in Rapid City; was a Girl Scout and Cub Scout leader for years. In the late 1950’s she was SD representative in Philadelphia, PA for the Girl Scouts. She taught Sunday school for a number of years and was active in a number of organizations, Eastern Stars, Pioneer Daughters, VFW and Moose Club. She is survived by one daughter, Nancy K. Holz of Keystone, SD; two sons, Dale R. and wife Cindy Hansen of Rapid City, SD; Jim and wife Sharon Hansen of Rapid City, SD; a brother, Jarold and wife Ann; two nephews Dale and Tod Clutter all of Cuyama, CA; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold, September 10, 1981; son, Richard H Hansen and daughter, Sandy J Hansen.
