Obituary For Edward W Bruneau, Jr.
Edward W. Bruneau, Jr., passed away peacefully on August 27, 2017 at Regional\'s Hospice of the Hills, Rapid City, South Dakota with family members by his side after a courageous fight against cancer. Ed celebrated his 65th birthday at home with many loved ones.
Edward, the oldest of 5 children, was born to Carol (Burns) Bruneau and Edward W. Bruneau Sr. on July 27, 1952 in New Haven, CT.
Ed graduated from West Haven High School in 1971. Following graduation, Ed joined the Air Force and is a Vietnam era veteran. Ed continued his education at Black Hills State University and became a certified EMT, following his career in the Air Force.
Ever the entrepreneur, Ed operated and managed several business interests in the Black Hills area.
Ed also loved music. He was a self-taught accomplished pianist and was a member of the New Haven, CT Emerald Cadets in his youth. For many years, he was a member of the Rapid City New Horizon Band and Jazz Band.
Ed is survived by his long-term partner and spouse, Randy O\'Neill; Sister Bonny Mrazik of Wallingford, CT; Three brothers, William Bruneau (Patricia), James Bruneau (Alicia) of West Haven, CT and Thomas Bruneau (Tim Pierce) Of Lafayette, LA; Kenneth O\'Neill (Irina) of Houston, TX, Elieen O\'Neill Cofell (Loren), Charlene O\'Neill McCoy and 13 nieces and nephews; 11 grand nieces and nephews, as well as numerous cousins and many close friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Carol and Edward Bruneau as well as his paternal and maternal grandparents and in-laws.
Edward will be remembered by his family and friends as a person with a kind heart and caring soul, loving husband and brother.
Burial will be at Black Hills National Cemetery, with military honors. A family service will be held at a later date.
He requested that any memorials be directed to Feeding South Dakota.
