Obituary For Eleanor Julie Worley

Eleanor Julie Worley, 86, Rapid City, passed away Wednesday, Jan 16, 2013 at Rapid City Regional Hospital surrounded by her family. Eleanor was born to Theodore and Christine (Olson) on February 21, 1926 in Rapid City. She graduated from Rapid City High School in 1944. She was employed at Northwestern Bell and then sewed drapes and curtains out of her home for the Linoleum Center. Eleanor married Ray Worley in 1960 and together they ventured into business as proud owners of W & W Catering. Eleanor eventually went into business as Pretty Pines Catering. An amazing cook and baker, Eleanor was well known for her delicious cookies and pies. Her grandchildren loved helping her in the catering vans at the dirt bike races and auctions. Often seen at the local Black Hills Speedway, in the past, Eleanor’s favorite pastimes included watching NASCAR races and Wheel of Fortune. She kept her mind sharp completing crossword and Sudoku puzzles. She loved spending time with her family, but never passed up the chance to challenge a slot machine in Deadwood. She will be greatly missed by her family. Survivors include her children, Jim (Janet) Stulken, Perryton, TX; Suzanne (Jim) McKinstry and Kirk (Deb) Worley, all of Rapid City; grandchildren, Tana Nelson, Tara Lipp, Trisha Nelson, Mac Koenen, McKayla Worley, all of Rapid City; Julie Bryan and Jackie Cook, both of Perryton, TX; 11 great grandchildren and her sister, Lucille Mower, Hot Springs. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray; her parents, four brothers, a sister and a granddaughter.
