Obituary For Elizabeth Delilah Kelsey

Elizabeth Delilah (Hibbs) Kelsey, 88, went into the arms of our Lord on January 13th at Hospice of the Hills in Rapid City, South Dakota. Betty was born on February 15th, 1923 to Raymond Hibbs and Marguerite (Lenker) Hibbs in Ideal, South Dakota. Betty, a current resident of Hot Springs, served as a nurse in the Army from 1945 to 1946 attaining the rank of 2nd Lieutenant. Following military service she continued her nursing career at the community hospital in Winner, SD. Betty culminated her 50 year nursing career with retirement from the Department of Veterans Affairs in 1994. She was also a 39 year member of the American Legion. Betty enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, feeding the birds in her yard, and baking pumpkin pies. Betty is survived by two sons: Charles T. (Lynn) Kelsey III, Hot Springs; Marvin (Peg) Kelsey, Rapid City; 17 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Marla, two grandsons, her parents, two brothers and four sisters.
