Obituary For Engelina Overweg
Engelina ‘Engie’ Overweg, 93, passed away May 22, 2015, at the Sturgis Regional Senior Care Center. Engie was born January 17, 1922 to Jacob abd Gerritje Van Baalen in Charles Mix County, South Dakota. She retired from the South Dakota State Library in Pierre, South Dakota in 1992 and moved to Rapid City, South Dakota to be near family.Engie is survived by her son, Richard (special friend Jean Adams) Overweg, Rapid City; three daughters, Gertrude Verosky, Sturgis, SD, Johanna (Darrell) Hoar, Black Hawk, SD, Dianna Mathison, Burleson, TX; 9 grandchildren; numerous great and great great grandchildren; one brother, Koenraad Van Baalen, Stickney, SD.She was preceded in death by her husband, Bert, her parents, Jacob and Gerritje Van Baalen and her brother, Arie Van Baalen.
