Evelyn M. (Wright) Bordeaux, 93, Rapid City died Monday Jan. 24, 2011 at Clarkson Mt. View Healthcare. She was born Oct. 4, 1917 to Jesse and Emma (Cordier) Wright in Ocreek, SD. She graduated from St. Mary’s Episcopal School in Springfield, SD on May 27, 1931. Evelyn worked for Sioux San Indian Health Services as a cook, retiring Oct. 12, 1982. Evelyn was a member of St Matthew’s Episcopal Church where she devoted many hours to the Woman’s Guild. She loved spending time at the church, volunteering and helping where ever she was needed. Her hobbies were beading, making quilts and crossword puzzles. Evelyn is survived by three sons, Dick (Jane) Bordeaux, Rapid City; Leland (Joanne) Bordeaux, Mission; Russell (Pat) Bordeaux, Rapid City; 10 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren and one brother, Leo Wright, Enon, Ohio. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Evelyn Handboy in 1981.
