Obituary For Frederick W.H. Thomas
The angels called Frederick William Herman Thomas, 78, Rapid City, home to the Lord on Thursday January 25, 2007. Fred was born to George James and Mary Lotta (Buesig) Thomas on May 14, 1928 in Hanover, KS. He graduated from Nisland High School and attended Black Hills Teachers College for 3 years. He joined the US Navy Sept. 19, 1945 serving on the US Maddox DD731 ship during WW II. He was honorably discharged March 28, 1949. Fred worked as a salesman and business manager for Electrolux and was very active in sales. He won numerous sales awards which he was very proud of. He was also a police officer for the Ft. Pierre and Sturgis Police Departments Fred is survived by 4 sons, David Thomas, Lake Mills, IA; Jay Thomas, Webster City, IA; Scott Anderson, Spearfish; Gregg Thomas, Rapid City; 3 step-daughters, Debbie Feuring, Owatonna, MN; Judy Englebert, Rapid City; Linda Pehringer, Newcastle, WY, 4 grandchildren, Brittany and Bradley Thomas, Seth and Harmony Anderson; 3 step-grandchildren, Mike Pehringer, Newcastle, WY; Shawna Stensaas, Cheyenne, WY; Lisa Pehringer-Hancock, Cheyenne, WY; 8 great grandchildren; brother, George Thomas, Rapid City; sister Georgia Lorraine Frey, Craig, CO and numerous nieces, nephews and other family. He was preceded in death by his wife Vera, May 14, 2005 and his parents.
