Obituary For Gary Lynn Tansill
Gary Tansill passed away at the age of 81 on July 19, 2025 in the arms of his wife and family. Gary left love, kindness, joy, and laughter with his family, adopted family, friends and strangers.
Gary is survived by his wife Mary, and children: Jeff, Brigitte, Gina, Cecil, Jennifer and Stefanie and numerous grandchildren. Gary’s family welcomes friends to join us in honoring him.
Visitation will be held Sunday, July 27th from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and a funeral service will be held Monday, July 28, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Behrens-Wilson Funeral Home (Rapid City). The internment will be held July 28, 2025 from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at Black Hills National Cemetery.

Gary was my supervisor on swing shift in the sheet metal shop. I was not always on my best behavior,but he was always patient with me. He always knew the right things to say. He taught me a lot about patience, precision, and how to work with even difficult people. I had a great deal of respect for Gary. Im praying for the family. May Gary rest in Peace.
