Obituary For Georgene 'Jean' M. King

Georgene “Jean” M. King, 92, of 2722 South Hill Road, No. 46, Gladstone, died Monday, April 17, 2006, at the Christian Park Health Care Center in Escanaba, following a lengthy illness. Georgene was born June 10, 1913, in Menominee, the daughter of Ervin and Louise (Evenson) Schomer, was raised and lived there until her marriage to Raymond W. King on Feb. 8, 1932 in Wells.Raymond preceded her in death Aug. 7, 2000.She enjoyed traveling, game playing, dartball, and spending time with her family.Both Georgene and Raymond were well-known for their kindness and possessing a true spirit of Christianity.Georgene King’s survivors included: two sons, Ronald (Barbara) King. Of Keystone, SD, James (Maxine) King, of Gladstone; three daughters, Jeanne (Joseph) Allsworth, of Gladstone, Sharon (Dave) Strempel, of Oak Forest, IL, Patricia Grimm, of Wittmann, AZ; 18 grandchildren; and numerous great and great-great and great-great-great grandchildren; brother, Leonard Schomer, of Vero Beach FL. She was preceded in death by and infant daughter, Nancy Lou, and by a grandson, Rodney King, of Rapid City, SD. In addition, Georgene was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters. Appreciation is given to the Christian Park Health Care Center and staff for the loving care given to our father and mother, Raymond and Georgene King, our family extends our deepest thanks.
