Obituary For Gerald James Schock
Gerald James Schock, 89, of Rapid City, SD, passed away on 03/10/2026 in Rapid City, SD.
Jerry was born in McLaughlin, SD to Maggie (Kline) and Jacob on February 28th, 1937. He graduated high school in Mobridge, SD. He married Luann LeBeau on May 23, 1970 in Promise, SD. He was a veteran of the Marines. He worked in road construction for over 25 years and finished his work career in civil service at EAFB.
Jerry was known for his sense of humor, his love, and fierce protectiveness of his wife and children. He adored his grandchildren and enjoyed supporting them in all of their activities. He was especially proud to become a great grandpa last year. He will be greatly missed by all.
Jerry is survived by the love of his life: Luann: daughter Lorrie and Wayne Sullivan, grandchildren: Jakeb Sullivan and Alea Olbrich, Savannah and Austin Wise, great granddaughter Weslie Rae Wise, Skylar Sullivan and Ryan Nolan, Jedidiah Sullivan, JonPaul Sullivan. Son: Tyrone and Heather: grandchildren Tyra and Alex: son Todd and Sara: grandchild Sawyer. He is also survived by his brother Jack and Rhonda Schock.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Jacob and Maggie, sister Norma Barbour and brother Tom Schock.
The family wishes to give sincere thanks to Monument Home Hospice.
