Obituary For Gertrude J. 'Gertie' Larsen
Gertrude Jean ‘Gertie’ Larsen, 76, Reliance, passed away Thursday May 13, 2010 at Sanford Mid-Dakota Hospital. She was born Oct. 5, 1933 in Stevenson, SD to Ellridge and Helen (Pressman) Moon. She grew up in Kennebec. Gertie married Dean Larsen in Chamberlain on May 10, 1952. She lived on their farm south of Reliance until her death. Gertie is survived by her husband of 58 years, Dean Larsen, Chamberlain; her children, Loretta ‘Lori’ Miller, Mukilteo, WA; Betty Jo and husband Rick Simpson, Rapid City; Ronnie and wife Deb Larsen, Chamberlain; grandchildren and great grandchildren, Roxanne Pritzkau and special friend Jason Neuzil and children Skyler and Hunter, Rapid City; Casey and wife Star Miller, Marysville, WA; Ryan and wife Breezy Simpson and son Austin, Black Hawk; and Petty Officer 1st Class Brady and wife Jeanette Miller and children Dylan and Travis, stationed on the USS Howard, San Diego, CA; twin brother Gary Moon, OR; brothers, Kenny and wife Hope Moon, Sioux Falls; Ron ‘Hokie’ Moon, Grand Junction, CO; Dale Armstrong, AZ; sister, Darlene Woodraska, Trenton, NE and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister Peggy; and a son in infancy, Albert Leroy Larsen.
