Obituary For Hazel W. Simpson

Hazel W. Simpson, 84, Rapid City, died Thursday August 9, 2007 at Rapid City Regional Hospital. Hazel was born May 9, 1923 in Mitchell, SD to Hans and Minnie (Carlson) Hanson. She married Ray C. Simpson in Mitchell, SD on March 18, 1943. Hazel was an avid sports fan enjoying everything from football to NASCAR. Her favorite time of the day was watching Jeopardy. She was a life member of the VFW Auxiliary, where she was President of the Ladies VFW Auxiliary post level 3 times and was Member of the Year in 2005. Hazel is survived by 2 sons, Dale (Kelly) Simpson, York Beach, ME; Ron (Glenda) Simpson, Hill City; 1 daughter, Linda (Steve) Post, Aberdeen, SD; 8 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; 2 brothers, Ken (Arbutus) Hanson; Darrell (Bev) Hanson; 2 sisters, Lorene Lowe; Alyce (LaVern) Knutson and her special pet Toby. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Ray Charles Simpson, July 31, 2001 and her parents.
