Obituary For Ian Sigler
Ian Floyd Sigler, 63, Rapid City, passed away Sunday, April 23, 2017 at the Ft. Meade Hospice in Sturgis. Ian was born in Fontainebleau, France to Arthur Floyd and Vera (Morris) Sigler on July 12, 1953. He attended junior and senior high school and technical training in Rapid City. He married Kathy Ann (Lerew) Sigler on August 8, 1971 in Rapid City. Ian worked as an electrician for various companies until opening Black Hills Maintenance Tech. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the United States Coast Guard and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal. He was an active member of the Masonic Lodge and the Shrine Club. Ian also stayed active as a soccer coach for both his children and grandchildren. Ian is survived by his wife, Kathy; his sons Scott and Shane Sigler; his sister Yvonne (Des) McCallum of Denver, CO; his brother, David (Shiela) Sigler of Atlanta, GA; and his grandchildren – Sidney Sigler, Krista Bauer-Valle, and Kjersti Sigler; his 2 dogs, Jas and Bear who he co-owned with Sidney and many unlisted who looked at him as a father and grandfather. Ian is preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Vera Sigler, and his youngest son Jeremy Allen Sigler. The family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the doctors and nurses at the Ft. Meade VA Hospital, the doctors and nurses at RCRH, EMS, Knollwood Heights Methodist Church and all of our friends at the RCRH intensive care unit.
