Iva Fitzgerald, 85, Scottsbluff, NE and formerly of Rapid City died Tuesday May 4, 2010 at the Golden Livingcenter in Scottsbluff. She was born Sept. 21, 1924 in Gary, SD to V.W. and Myrtle (Parks) Vanderwarka. She grew up in the Nisland and Vale areas where she attended school. Iva married Leonard Fitzgerald on July 5, 1945. They lived at Enning, SD where she was a ranch wife. They later moved to Rapid City where she worked for Basler Printing. She moved to Lincoln, NE to be close to family and worked in the laundry unit at the nursing home. She retired in 1990 and then moved to Morrill, NE to be near family. Iva has spent the past two years at the Golden Livingcenter in Scottsbluff.She is survived by 2 daughters, Freda Holman, Lincoln, NE; Nora (Larry) Audus, Junction City, KS; her son, James (Lynn) Fitzgerald, Guernsey, WY; 5 grandchildren, Tammy; Kathy; James; Casondra and Patrick; and 4 great grandchildren, Brady; Brandon, Colton and Jade. She is preceded in death by her husband, Leonard, Sept. 1967; parents; 5 brothers and 3 sisters.
