Obituary For Jack E Young

Jackson E. “Jack” Young, 86, Rapid City, died Monday Aug. 5, 2013 at Fountain Springs Health Care. He was born in Rapid City on Aug 23, 1926 to Walter and Ruth (Hyde) Young. Jack entered the US Army Dec 1, 1945 and was honorably discharged Nov 25, 1946. Jack worked many years as a truck driver for George Davis Trucking and retired from the Rapid City Schools in 1991 as a custodian. He loved retirement, traveling in their motorhome, spending time in Deadwood and Las Vegas, playing poker with his friends and spending time with family and friends. Jack is survived by his wife Louise; his daughter Susan Young; his son Brian (Ila) Young all of Rapid City; his grandchildren, Ryan (Carolyn) Young and Angie (Brandon) Richards; his great grandchildren, Tyler Fines, Bryce Richards, Nathan Richards and Levity Young; two special nieces, Karen Barbier and Wanda Davis and many friends. At Jack’s request there will be a memorial luncheon Sunday, Aug 11, 2013, from noon to 4 p.m., at the Eagle’s Lodge. Behrens-Wilson Funeral Home is in care of the arrangements and condolences may be conveyed to the family at www.behrenswilson.com.
