Obituary For James P. Sanders, Jr.

James P. Sanders Jr., 68, Box Elder passed away on Monday July 28, 2008 at Rapid City Regional Hospital after losing his battle with lung cancer. Jim was born on July 11, 1940 in Columbus, MS to James Sr and Lucille (Glenn) Sanders. Jim joined the military in 1957 and met and married his wife Brenda on April 2, 1960 while stationed at Hanscom Field in Massachusetts. Jim served in the military by way of the National Guard and then the US Air Force. He retired from active duty in 1979 and with his love for our country he continued with the military in Civil Service at Ellsworth Air Force Base until his retirement in 2006. Jim had a great love for fishing, hunting and touring the country by motor home, with his computer(s) by his side. Jim was a beloved husband, father, grandpa, great grandpa, brother, son and friend and will be missed by all. Jim is survived by his wife, Brenda, Box Elder; three children, Jimmy (Vickie) Sanders, Box Elder; Denise Sanders, Box Elder; Dotti (David) Dean, Rapid City; four grandchildren, Nicole, Tiffaney, Nicholas and Jenna, Rapid City; three great grandchildren, Tyler, Ethan and Evan, Rapid City; one grandchild adopted in his heart, Kegan, Sioux Falls; one brother, Thomas (Linda) Sanders, Knoxville, TN; niece and nephew, Keelin and Kyle and their families. He was preceded in death by his parents and a new born son, Donny.
