Obituary For Jan Bryant Stilwell

Jan Bryant Stilwell, 56, Rapid City, SD died Sept. 29, 2007 in the Black Hills doing what he loved. He was born April 13, 1951 in Vang, ND to Winfred and Myrtle (Mostad) Stilwell. Jan grew up and attended school in the Vang area and graduated from Walhalla High School. He served in the Army National Guard from 1970 to 1975. He married the love of his life, Jacinta Bodensteiner, April 15, 1978. Jan lived and farmed in the Vang community until 1997. He and his family moved to Rapid City to work full time at the post office where he developed some special friendships. Jan enjoyed many hobbies but his true joy was spending time with his family. He was a master craftsman of many trades. Whether Jan was working with wood, glass, metal or concrete, he was able to mold it. He thrived on designing and building houses, rebuilding vehicles, bowling, NASCAR, horseshoes, softball, 4-wheeling, traveling, being a private pilot and had a passion for motorcycles. Jan is preceded in death by his parents, brother Bruce Stilwell, sister Sonia Holen and nephew Pete Crockett. He is survived by his wife, Jacinta, Rapid City, SD; children April Stilwell, Camp Pendleton, CA; Allen Stilwell, Rapid City, SD; Theresa (Dan) Lewis, Rapid City, SD; Bryant Stilwell, Fort Lewis, WA; sisters, Susan Hanson, Mountain, ND; Sherry Tagestad, Edinburg, ND; one grandson, Brayden Lewis and numerous family and friends
