Obituary For Jane Caroline Kimball DeYoe Bunch
Jane Caroline Kimball DeYoe Bunch, 93, Rapid City, died Saturday Oct. 11, 2014 at Clarkson Nursing Home in Rapid City. She was born on August 1, 1921 in Denver, CO to Frank and Anne (Harnett) Kimball. Jane grew up on the family ranch outside of Aladdin, WY. She graduated as the valedictorian from Belle Fourche High School in 1939. She married Richard DeYoe in 1939 and together they had 7 children. While raising her family, Jane received her bachelor’s degree from Black Hills State Teachers College in Spearfish. In 1964 Jane and her family moved to Tonopah, NV where she taught English and Journalism. She spent several summers attending the University of Nevada, Reno, where she received her master’s degree in English. In 1975 she moved to Pahrump, NV where she continued to teach until her retirement in 1983. After the death of her husband, Jane met and married Eugene ‘Tweet’ Bunch in 1983, and returned to Wyoming where they trained and showed field trial dogs, winning some national titles. Upon Gene’s death, Jane moved to Rapid City in order to be closer to her family. She was a member of the American Association of University Women (AAUW), the Rapid City Literacy Council, and attended weekly meetings of the writers group at the Canyon Lake Senior Center until just before her passing. Jane was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers Edward and John Kimball, sister Dorothy Busfield, husband Richard DeYoe, husband Eugene Bunch and stepson Terry Bunch. Jane is survived by her children, Richard (Mary) DeYoe, Belle Fourche; John (Karen) DeYoe, Rapid City; Tom (Sandra) DeYoe, Newell; Jerry (Karen) DeYoe, Perryville, MO; James (Joyce) DeYoe, Tonopah, NV; Pati (Gary) Grajczyk, Rapid City and Robert (Julie) DeYoe, Tonopah, NV; her step children Dale (Shelly) Haarr, Kalispell, MT and Billie Lou Bruckner, Casper, WY. Jane is also survived by over 100 grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.
