Obituary For Jean Vannet
Jean Marie (Jeske) Vannet, 88, died Monday, October 24, 2016 at Rapid City Regional Hospice House. Jean was born on March 29, 1928 to Emil and Lula (Veritzen) Jeske. She grew up on the family farm near Webster, South Dakota where she cultivated a love for animals and gardening which endured throughout her life. Upon leaving the farm she became a waitress in and around Webster. Jean married Arthur Vannet on November 19, 1960 in Madison, Dakota. They lived their married life in Huron, South Dakota until Arthur’s death in 1983. Jean then moved to Rapid City, South Dakota and obtained her CNA. She was employed by private patients for several years and then worked for the Rapid City Regional Hospital Assisted Living Program until she retired. Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Emil and Lula Jeske, husband, Arthur Vannet, six sisters, Adeline Rhode, Melda Bunn, Marilyn Glazer, Birtha Stottler, Doris Kennedy and Delores Hesla. She is survived by one sister, Betty Hesla of Webster, one brother, Roger Jeske of Milbank, two sons, Doug Jeske of Utica, Mark Vannet of Rapid City, one daughter, Cindy (Vannet) Fisher of Kyle, five grandchildren, Kadem Fisher, Kylea (Fisher) Longbrake, Katie Fisher, Kolten Fisher, Justin Vannet, and two great-grandchildren, Teagan Longbrake and Kellin Fisher.
