Jerry L. Hastings, 65, Rapid City, died Tuesday, March 18, 2008 at Rapid City Regional Hospital.He was born June 30, 1942 to Sam and Alice (Greeno) Hastings in Britton, SD. He grew up in that area and graduated from Hecla High School in 1960. He farmed in the Hecla Britton area until moving to Rapid City in 1984. He started Cricket Lawn Care in 1984 and was operating it until recently.He was a member of the NRA, enjoyed hunting, horses and reading and watching westerns.He is survived by 2 sons, Michael and wife Gayle Hastings, Britton; Johnny Hastings, Rapid City; a grandson, Matt Hastings, Britton; step grandchildren, Stephanie, Angela, Michael, Heather; special friend, Cherie Lonas, Rapid City; a sister, LaRue and husband Bill Cantwell, Aberdeen, a brother Jim Hastings, Lafayette, CO.He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Derl Hastings.
