Obituary For Jimmie Dyke Morris

Jimmie Dyke Morris, 81, Rapid City died Tuesday May 6, 2008 in Pueblo, CO as the result of an automobile accident. Jimmie was born Jan. 10, 1927 in Perkins Co, SD to L.G. and Clara (Dyke) Morris. He graduated from high school at the age of 16. Jimmie served as an officer in the Merchant Marine then joined the US Army serving in Korea. After being honorably discharged from the Army he attended Northern State University in Aberdeen receiving both a Bachelors and Master degree. He then went on to study at the University of North Dakota receiving his Doctorate Degree. He was the head of the Business Dept at Black Hills State and then went to the University of Hawaii-Manoa Campus where he taught graduate school and was responsible for business education for grades 7 through the graduate program. Jimmie married Sue Zanna Smith on June 1, 1959 in Elk Point, SD. Jimmie is survived by his wife of 49 years, Sue, Rapid City; grand-nephew Jeff and wife Karen Storm, Rapid City; two great grand-nephews Shane and Andrew Storm, Rapid City; nephew Brian and wife Lori Morris, Meadow, SD; niece Geraldine Storm, Meadow, SD; cousins Diane Dyke, Dennis and wife Connie Dyke, Dan Dyke and Debra Frederickson. He was preceded in death by his brother Gerald and parents.
