Obituary For Joanne Ella Manlove
Joanne Ella Turner Manlove was born July 15, 1926 in Hazard, Kentucky to Tennessee Turner and Bertie Combs Turner. She passed away peacefully on April 24, 2015 at Hospice House in Rapid City, South Dakota. Joanne attended Berea College and graduated from the University of Kentucky. She married, and raised three children. In 1972, Joanne earned her M.A. from the University of Minnesota. She was a dedicated teacher all her life. She began teaching in Lakeville, Minnesota and ended her career as a Special Education teacher at Hosterman Middle School in Robbinsdale, Minnesota. She gave to all her family an ongoing love for books and education, and a deep love and appreciation of music.Grateful for having shared her life are her sister and best friend, Carolyn Moulton (Walt Moulton) and niece Beth Moulton Limberg (Al Limberg); her daughter Linda Manlove and granddaughter Joy Manlove Armstrong (Chris Armstrong); her daughter-in-law Becca Brin Manlove and grandchildren Joe (Leigh Spokas Manlove) and Celin Manlove (Sean Williams); and son Stephen Manlove (Peggy Saunders) and grandchildren Kezia, Erin, and Luke Manlove. She was predeceased by her son, Michael Manlove and grandson, Seth Manlove. Joanne’s family wishes to thank her friends and caregivers at Somerset Court, the staff at Rapid City Regional Hospital and Hospice House, and her doctors for their many kindnesses to Joanne during her final days.
