Obituary For Joe Stiver

Joe Stiver, age 87, died at Rapid City Regional Hospital on Monday, April 15, 2013. Born November 22, 1925 in Mitchell, Nebraska, he lived in Mitchell, NE, Blanchard, OK, Hot Springs, SD, and Worland, WY. He was the owner and operator of Red Oak Manufacturing until retiring in 2009. Joe entered the Marine Corps in 1945 and was assigned to a business office because he was known as a fast typist. He was baptized into the Jehovah’s Witnesses in 1996.Joe enjoyed spending time outdoors, spending time with his kids, grandkids and great grandkids. He operated an archery shop for many years and was known as an expert archer and had a collection of his Robin Hood arrows. His favorite memory was hunting the banks of the Platte River in Mitchell, Nebraska where he was raised.Survivors include brother, Luther Stiver Jr. of Oral, SD, sister, June Rice of California, daughter Kathy Sanders of Hot Springs, and son Mark Stiver of Worland, WY. He was also survived by seven grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. Joe was preceded in death by parents Luther Sr. and Neva Stiver, sisters, Lucille Warren and Sharon Chayer, daughters, Joy Karen Napier and Jan Kayleen Stiver.
