Obituary For John Anthony Joseph Aberle

John Anthony Joseph Aberle was born October 4, 2004 to Robert and Melissa (Haeder) Aberle in Rapid City. He was a K-12 student of the Rapid City Catholic School System and graduated in 2023.

He was baptized on All Saints Day, Nov. 1, 2004.
Days before the beginning of Lent our son was resurrected into new life. We loved our John boy and that love will continue. We don’t know the number of days assigned to our life but we do know that a supremely good God knows better than we do. He is goodness, truth and beauty. We return him to the arms of his Father and we know that we will see him again.

We have come to understand that John never met a stranger. He was generous with his time, humor and profound intellect. A good friend to many and a solid source of support. He was loyal, had beautiful eyes and an infectious smile. Now, having seen the goodness that waits for those who love Jesus, he understands – and waits for you to call on him. He can help you sort through your trials, comfort you and petition the Author of Life on your behalf. He is a better son, a better brother and the best of friends because now he completely knows The Truth. He knows that the only goal worth working for is eternal life in Jesus Christ.

Divine Mercy ushered us through John’s last days with a profound outpouring of Graces. His family is grateful for this community and an amazing provision of support through prayer, calls and generous affection. We are also grateful for John’s abundance of friends – many of whom we just met. We will see him again each at God’s perfect timing. During the hour of mercy on February 15, 2026 he returned to the Father. We await our own return to the Divine Healer. Jesus, we trust in You.

He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Al and Janice Aberle. Left with the memories of John are his family Robert, Melissa, Maria and Gianna. His extended family includes his maternal grandparents John and Linda Haeder, Brandon of Aurora, Janal (Jiggs) Biegler of Timber Lake, Don (Rondi) Aberle of Promise, Roger Aberle of Promise, Barbra (Kerry) Droog of Mobridge, Anita (Bruce) Mathews of Ft. Pierre, Margret (Glenn) Malm of Ft. Pierre and Michael Haeder of Rapid City. He is also survived by his cousins; Lyle (Megan), Kyle (Renee), Karyl (Chad), Mike, Jennifer (William), Ethan, MaKayla (Mike), Dana, Alyssa (Mick), Brady (Amber), Marissa, Bailee, Alekiah, Lacey (Matt), Kaeley, Carley, Joe, Anna and Judah.
