Obituary For John I. Binegar

John I. Binegar, 79, died Saturday May 6, 2006 at his home in Rapid City.John was born Jan. 21, 1927 in Dixon, SD to Claude and Irene (Thompson) Binegar. He moved with his family to Rapid City in 1935 where he graduated from Rapid City High School in 1944. He entered the US Army March 21, 1945 serving during WWII in Germany and was honorably discharged November 29, 1946 as a Sergeant. Throughout his life, he owned several businesses and worked overseas for more than a decade. He retired from Pardee Construction, Las Vegas, NV in 1992.John was a member of the Elks Lodge and the American Legion.John is survived by his wife, Polly Binegar, Rapid City; 2 sons, Tom Binegar, Salt Lake City, UT; John Binegar, Spearfish; 2 daughters, Susan Rider, Salt Lake City, UT; Lisa Harley, Spearfish; 11 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; his mother, Irene Binegar Ibsen, Rapid City; 1 brother, Bob (Ann) Binegar, Hot Springs and 1 sister, Marie Ellis, Rapid City. He was preceded in death by his father, Claude Binegar and 1 daughter, Bonnie Jo.
