Obituary For John William Jager

John William Jager, age 53 of Rapid City,South Dakota passed away on November 26, 2025. He was born on June 4, 1972 in Pierre, South Dakota to Chuck and Patty (Biley) Jager.

John was 11 and younger brother, Kevin, was 2, when the family moved to Rapid City He graduated from Rapid City Central High School in 1990 and from Dakota Western Votech in 1991. He was a loyal employee at H-S Precision for nearly 30 years.

John’s humor and unique spirit attracted people to him. As a true Jager, his #1 passion was car racing. It was his wrenching that kept many a car on the track and in recent seasons he tutored niece, Karis, in how to be a top notch racing fan. Right up there was playing pool on teams with family and friends. And his newest hobby was perfecting his smoked meats and sharing the tasty results with all those around.

Not having ever married, John treated his nephew and nieces as his own. His large extended family and very close neighbors were all a very special part of his life as well. He probably never said the words, but you should all know you were deeply loved.

He survived by his mother Patty, brother Kevin (Keli) Jager, and their family Klayson, Kamara and Karis, many Aunts, Uncles and Cousins. His father, Charles/Chuck Jager preceded him in death, Grandparents John and Shirley Jager, Gettysburg, SD and Virgil and Helen Biley, Agar, SD.

John’s memory will live on in the love he shared, the laughter he inspired, and the many lives he touched with his caring heart and helping hands. John will be greatly missed.

Service will be at Behrens-Wilson Funeral Home in Rapid City on Saturday, December 6 at 1:00 pm with Rev. Tim Dower officiating. A Celebration of Life will follow the services.

To John's Family, Tim (Daniel Gurule), and I would like to extend our deepest sympathies to each of you. We were blessed to see John a few weeks ago, and talk to him and let him know how much we missed seeing him around the Breakroom. There will definitely be a void without John's large personality and quick wit at the pool tables. Rest with the Angels, dear friend; we will never forget you~~~Penny Porter
