Kirley, Jr. She loved boating, water skiing, and picnicking with friends. In addition to being an accomplished seamstress, Joyce’s hobbies included needlework, fishing, and baking. Joyce loved to play with her parrots and teach them to sing and say her grandchildren’s’ names. In her last year, she had been active in making charity quilts for Project Warmth (BH Quilter’s Guild). Her wonderful sense of humor will be missed by her surviving family: husband John H. Kirley, Jr.; daughters Pamela (Bob) Slocum and Sheri (John) Heaton; grandchildren Andrea Slocum, John Slocum, Mark (Samantha) Slocum, Rita Heaton, and Alexander Heaton; and brother Jim (Rita) Fields of Westminster, CO; as well as by her extended family and many friends. She is preceded in death by parents Clifford Fields and Bertha Lovelett, and sisters Jane Rilling and Joan Kressley. A celebration of her life will take place between 1 and 3 pm on Saturday, May 11, in the Alps Room at the Alps Apartments on 1800 Shaver Street. In lieu of flowers, Joyce’s family asks that donations in her memory by made to Black Hills Quilter’s Guild for Project Warmth. Condolences may be conveyed to the family at www.behrenswilson.com
