Karl Thomas, 70, of Box Elder, SD went to his heavenly home on December 17, 2025.

He was born in White Cloud, MI on August 25, 1955 to H Elmer and Helen (Larsen) Thomas. He was the middle child having an older sister Judy and a younger sister Jeri Sue whom he loved to tell stories of growing up with two sisters.

Karl met Debbie Korte in White Cloud, MI and were married in 1975. They had two children, Jason Thomas and Tiffany Thomas while married. Karl had 4 grandchildren, Portia and Elise (Jason and Jenny) and Collin and Felicity (Tiffany).

Karl was a 20-year veteran of the US Air Force and retired to Box Elder, SD. He had many deployments where he was able to travel the world. He told stories of his time abroad to his children and grandchildren.

Karl was very active in church; he was always willing to help anyone in need and supported charities like St. Jude and the Wounded Warrior project faithfully. Karl always participated in the worship services and men’s group faithfully at Valley Community Church while also helping to make sure he was there to help with any maintenance the church needed.

Karl was passionate about architecture, grafting, art, mechanics and building models of cars and boats. His love of art and mechanics were passed down to his children and grandchildren.

Karl is preceded in death by his parents and his older sister Judy.

Karl is survived by his younger sister Jeri Sue, his ex-wife Debbie Korte, his children Jason (Jenny) Thomas and Tiffany Thomas and his grandchildren who he loved so very much.

Karls service will be at Black Hills National Cemetery will be June 12th 2:30pm with full military honors.
