Katherine Rose Joyner, 61, Rapid City, died Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at Rapid City Regional Hospital.Katherine was born July 15, 1954 in Rapid City to Donald and Florence (Bloom) Robinson. She grew up and was educated in Rapid City.She married Steven Joyner in 1974 in Rapid City. They moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado in 1974 where she spent most of her life. She loved the mountains. She and her husband Steve did some traveling, as they loved the trips and had fun. She loved camping and fishing. They returned to Rapid City in 1996 and have been here since.She loved cooking for family and friends. Her favorite time of the year was Christmas and family gatherings of everyone. She always had a place for everyone in her heart. Her in-laws were a big part of her life when she lived in Colorado. She was a jack of all trades when it came to working. There wasn’t anything she wouldn’t try to do for work. As I, her sister Betty, would say, ‘she always had an open mind to things’.Kathie loved life and she will be missed.She is survived by her husband, Steven Joyner; 3 sisters, Betty Belt, Ann Reed, Donna Hammill; 5 brothers, Donnie, Will, David, Mike and James Robinson and several nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald Robinson and Florence (Carlson).
