Obituary For Kurt Andrew Pavey

KURT ANDREW PAVEY

October 29, 1955 – February 8, 2026

Graveside services for Kurt Pavey will be held on February 20, 2026 at Pine Lawn Memorial Park in Rapid City at 1:00 with Rev. Rusty Schmidt officiating. A visitation period is scheduled for 12:00-12:30 at Behrens Wilson Funeral Home preceding the graveside service.

Kurt was born in Sioux Falls and graduated from high school there. During his last school years he discovered his true loves of golf and being a disc jockey. He already had a disc jockey show at a local radio station prior to graduation and also was employed at a local golf course. His disc jockey show became #1 in the area. After several years he also became an assistant pro at the golf course. Kurt took his talents and moved around including time in Colorado, Texas and Georgia. In Texas he had the #1 show on the most powerful AM station in America, broadcasting across the country. His show was the #1 slot from 2am to 5am for all the truckers. He finally settled in Monroe, GA with his dear partner of 20+ years, Laura Malcom.

Kurt was preceded in death by his parents, Mark Pavey, buried at Ft. Snelling and Bertha Stucker, buried at Pine Lawn. He is survived by his brother Mike (Jamie) of Anderson, SC; 2 special nephews, Matt of Statesboro, GA and Mark (Diane) of Rancho Cucamonga, CA.

We will all miss Kurt’s special jokes and lively spirit.
