Lenora Isabel ‘Susie’ LaRoche, 92, Rapid City left us physically on Thursday Aug. 23, 2007 at the Golden Livingcenter Bella Vista, but due to a long and wicked struggle with Alzheimer’s, she left us mentally about 10 years ago. Susie was born July 5, 1915 at Bentley, ND to David and Pearl (Mathena) Williamson. She was the youngest of 15 children. In 1932 she married Chrise Oster and they farmed near Selfridge, ND. From this union was born Pearl Oster and E. LaVern Linenweber. Susie lost Chrise to mental illness in 1936. She married Martin Ellison in 1941 and they farmed near Thunder Hawk, SD. They also operated a retirement home for many years in Lemmon, SD. From this union three daughters were born; Alice Pahkamaa, Shirley Lonas and Lorraine Schneider. Martin passed away in 1963. Susie remarried again in 1964 to Harvard Brewster and lost him in 1977. Susie married Albert LaRoche in 1977 and they made their home in Hot Springs. They operated a day care and also did Meals on Wheels. Albert passed away in 2003. Susie and Albert had resided at Bella Vista nursing home in Rapid City. Susie never met a stranger in her life. Everyone she met she loved and people loved her. She loved God, her family and people in general. She is survived by 2 daughters, Alice and husband James Pahkamaa, Rapid City; Lorraine Schneider, Lemmon; 18 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren and 9 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 4 husbands, 3 daughters, Pearl Elliott Oster; Elsie Linenweber; Shirley Lonas and 3 grandchildren. The family of Susie will rejoice because she is finally released from the evil clutches of Alzheimer’s and can be embraced in the arms of our Lord.
