Obituary For Leo M. Dorer

Leo M. Dorer, 78, Rapid City, died Tuesday, November 25, 2008 at Rapid City Regional Hospice House.He was born August 12, 1930 in Auburn, CA to Raymond and Marie (Pettit) Dorer. He grew up in Humbug Canyon near Auburn.Leo entered the US Air Force on May 4, 1949 and was stationed at Ellsworth AFB where he met Thelma Peters. He and Thelma were married February 19, 1952 in Rapid City. Leo was honorably discharged on December 10, 1952.He worked at the cement plant in Rapid City for many years beginning as a switchman and moving to electrician. He retired following a long period of service.Leo was survived by 3 sons, Rick and wife Tina Dorer, Ron Dorer, Robert Dorer, 2 daughters, Linda and husband Mark Bartik, Patti and husband Andy Mills all of Rapid City; 4 grandchildren, Nathan Parker, Jeff Dorer, Angeliah Bartik, Brandon Cleveland and 2 great grandchildren, Blane Dorer and Jacoby Parker.He was preceded in death by his wife on June 14, 2005, parents and a brother, Jerry Dorer.
