Obituary For Leon 'Mac' McNulty

Longtime Keystone resident, Leon H. “Mac” McNulty, passed away at Rapid City Regional Hospital November 24, 2009 at the age of 80. Mac was born May 28, 1929 along with his twin sister, Billie Jean in Phoenix, AZ. He graduated from Rapid City High School in 1947. Shortly afterward, he started his career with Northwestern Bell, retiring 40 years later. He married Donna DeSive in Crawford, NE, June 17, 1950. They lived in various places in western NE and western SD, settling in Keystone in 1958. Mac called the Black Hills his home spending ‘spare’ time mining, fishing, hunting and just driving the back roads with his family. Over the years, he was Keystones fire chief, school board member and town trustee. His is survived by his children, Colleen (Mikal) Lewis, Hill City, and children Dale and Angela; Mickal (Brena) McNulty, Gardiner, MT and children Naisha and Kayla; Patricia Wagner, Belle Fourche, and children Kara and Stewart; Mickie McNulty-Eide, Center, ND and son Josh; Kevin (Judy) McNulty, Mesa, AZ and children Andrea and Ashlee; Sean (Susan) McNulty, Keystone and children Seanna, Dustin, Jordan, Jill, Casey, Nathan and Callee; 10 great grandchildren; twin sister Billie Jean Pesek, Mesa, AZ; sister-in-law Laura Lee (Bert) Oetken, Crawford, NE; sister-in-law Sarah DeSive, Perry, OK and numerous nieces, nephews and many friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Donna, son-in-law Dick Wagner; brother-in-law Ron DeSive; brother-in-law Paul Pesek; nephew Gary Oetken and his parents.
