Obituary For Lillian Pexa
Lillian Pexa, 92, lifelong Rapid City area resident, died Wednesday, November 5, 2008 at her home in Rapid City.Lillian was born September 24, 1916 in Rapid City to Oscar and Anna (Stromme) Egemo. She was raised and educated in Rapid City and graduated from Rapid City High School in 1938. She then worked at the Horseshoe Motel, a business her parents built and operated.Lillian married Leo Pexa on September 28, 1940 in Isabel. Together they owned and operated many successful businesses in the area.Lillian was a member of the Calvary Lutheran Church and enjoyed knitting and crocheting. She was also an avid reader.She is survived by daughters, Peggy and husband Russ Penning, Black Hawk, Louise and husband Clayton McGuire, Rapid City, Ruby and husband Bruce Kaiser, Spearfish, Patricia and husband David Freeman, Wildomar, Calif.; son, Wayne and wife Linda Pexa, Kurtistown, Hawaii; 10 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; 2 special nieces, Donna Ruel, Plymouth, MN, Jackie Olson, Hemet, CA and a special nephew, Mick Pexa, Rapid City/Guam.She was preceded in death by her husband Leo, August 20, 1966, a brother Lloyd Egemo and a sister Geverna Murray.
