Obituary For Lois Ann Kluthe

Lois Ann Stanton Kluthe, 90, passed away quietly at Westhills Healthcare Facility surrounded by her family; some with their presence and others in their thoughts and prayers on Saturday, October 9, 2010.Lois was born in a small, humble home in Buckhorn, Wyoming, on September 3, 1920 to Glenn and Annie (Quick) Stanton. When she was nine, the family moved to Rapid City where she attended Wilson Grade School and graduated from Rapid City High School. She attended National Business College and worked as a secretary for several years. On October 24, 1942, she married Howard Kluthe in Seattle, Washington. In 1944, they moved back home to Rapid City. Lois’ family was everything to her. Her eyes would light up when she saw family coming to visit or to take her on outings. She was a wonderful cook, she golfed, loved travel, sewing and family gatherings. Her wonderful smile, her sense of humor and her very quick wit will be remembered. Lois was involved with numerous organizations, was an honored Red Cross volunteer at Rapid City Regional Hospital for many years, played in the bell choir and volunteered with the Senior High Fellowship at First Presbyterian Church.She is survived by her daughter, Sandra (Richard) Lewis, Winner; son, Gary (Donna) Kluthe, daughter, Kathy (Doug) Lundeen both of Rapid City; grandchildren, Sean (Tina) Espe, Rapid City, Krsiti Hossle, Winner, Renae (Chris) Matkins, Fort Collins, CO, Tracy (Steven) Scholar, Aurora, CO, Gretchen (Brian) Errea, Paul Alley both of Rapid City; great grandchildren, Alycia Espe; Sidney, Landon, and Sam Hossle; Alex and Henry Matkins; Sam and Tristan Scholar and Jack and Eric Errea as well as numerous nieces, nephews and many, many friends.She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Robert Stanton, Floyd Stanton and an infant brother.
