Obituary For Lois Crawford
Lois Crawford, 84, Rapid City, died Sunday, November 30, 2014 at Fountain Springs Healthcare. Lois was born on Jan 28, 1930 to Chester and Jennie (McFarland) Carsner in New Underwood, SD. The family moved to Rapid City when Lois was 3 months old and attended grades 1-12 in the Rapid City School System. She married Bill Crawford in 1947 and helped put him through the SD School of Mines. They had four children. Besides being a homemaker, Lois was a member of the 1st Presbyterian Church and the VFW Auxiliary – Post 1273. She enjoyed playing golf, playing bridge and in her later years loved to china paint. In their early years Lois and Bill loved to square dance and they were always the first ones on the floor to jitterbug! Camping and night fishing were favorite summer pass-times. Upon Bill’s retirement, Lois and Bill moved to Fountain Hills, Arizona where they lived for almost 30 years. Lois’ passion was her family! No matter where she was or what she was doing, her family always came first! Lois is survived by her husband Bill, their four children: Dottie (Dale) Olson, Bruce (Kathy) Crawford, Roger (Sherree) Crawford and Wade Crawford. She has seven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
