Obituary For Loretta Wendling

Loretta (Schaefer) Wendling, 95, Rapid City, died peacefully in the presence of her family on May 13, 2010 at the Rapid City Regional Hospice House. She was born on October 12, 1914 in Edmunds County, near Hoven, SD to John and Elizabeth (Huber) Schaefer.Loretta attended schools in and near Hoven. She was married To Siraphine Wendling in St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Hoven in 1935.They lived in the Hoven area until 1954 when they moved to Rapid City. She was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Cathedral at the time of her death.She loved crocheting, cooking, gardening, reading, sewing, sketching and most work in the home. Her family was first and foremost in her life and they were blessed to have called her mom and grandma.She is survived by 3 daughters, Kathy Zeh, Donna Davis, Mary Biehl Sutton(Ken) all of Rapid City; sons, Cliff Wendling, San Jacinto, CA, Chuck Wendling, Rapid City; 32 grandchildren; 51 great grandchildren and 11 great great grandchildren.
