Obituary For Louise Coleman

Born October31 1915Died January 8 2007Louise Coleman, lifelong resident of Lake Andes, died January 8, 2007 in Rapid City S.D. at the age of9l.Louise Amanda Jensen was born October 31, 1915 to John and Agnes Jensen, pioneer settlers of the Lake Andes area. The youngest of her family, she was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Anton, Edwin, and Oscar, and sisters Inga and Agnes. She is survived by her daughter Mary Lewis, grandson Dylan Lewis and son-in-law Thomas Lewis, all of Lead, S.D.Louise devoted much of her life to the service of the First Lutheran Church of Lake Andes. Sundays and holidays found Louise playing organ for the Church and accompanying the choir. She played piano and organ for generations of weddings, funerals and community events. Louise passed her love of music along to her daughter Mary, who has in turn passed it on to Dylan, who is now an aspiring musician in the Black Hills area.Louise’s giving spirit will be missed by all who knew her. Louise cared more about other people’s welfare than her own and freely gave of her time and effort.
