Obituary For Marty Fowler
Marty Fowler, 54, Rapid City, died Thursday, Aug. 21, 2008, as the result of an automobile accident. He was born to James and Mari Etta (Werner) Fowler on October 22, 1953, at Ellsworth Air Force Base. He grew up in Rapid City and graduated from Central High School in 1972. He attended VoTech and was certified in welding and auto mechanics, which became a lifetime hobby. At the age of 22 he began a 32-year career as a delivery driver with UPS and was looking forward to retirement in April, 2009. Marty had many interests including riding his Harley, working on and driving his El Camino, boating and camping at Pactola, and snowmobiling in the Black Hills. He also enjoyed drag racing and attended many NHRA events. Marty leaves behind many unfinished dreams and projects including the home addition he worked so hard on. Marty was a friend to all and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Survivors include his wife Cindy Weichmann-Fowler, Rapid City; his son Jack (James) Fowler, Rapid City; his father James Fowler, Rapid City; his sister Janette Tysdal (Bill), Rapid City; his brother Richard Roberts (Sonja), Sheridan, WY; and his nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother Mari Etta Fowler and niece Mona Roberts Moore.
