Obituary For Marva Garnet Goodsell

Marva G. Goodsell, 80, of Rapid City died January 23, 2016 at home after a long battle with Multiple Myeloma. She was born in Timber Lake, SD on June 9th, 1935 to Margaret (Eads) and Lucius Wilcox. She was the 3rd youngest of 12 children and grew up in SD and MT. She lived most of her life in Rapid City and worked in several restaurants in town including: The Palace, The Salad Bowl, Carter’s and The Parkway. She was a hard worker and well respected by her coworkers and friends who nick named her “Moose” or “Moosie” because she was small but mighty. In her later years she worked at Campbell Co. High School in Gillette Wy., after retiring she moved back to Rapid City to care for her mom and worked at RC Regional Hospital and Walmart until her health forced her to retire. Marva is survived by her son Bud (Kathy) Wilcox; daughter Myrna (Tim) Kobes; grandchildren, Kristi (Erin) Wood, Brian Kobes, Krystal (Joe) Hammer; great grandchildren, Avery Wood, Matt, Josh and Joey Hammer all of Rapid City; her sisters, Nila Kolbeck, Billings MT; Avenella (Louie) Doell, Newcastle, WY; Carol (Jim) Walker, Scottsburg IN and her brother Jerome (Joann) Wilcox, St. George UT and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Ardith Wilcox, Lloyd Wilcox, Floyd Wilcox, Geraldine Heady, Norma Simmons, Bud Wilcox and Gary Wilcox and several sister and brother in-laws.
