Obituary For Mary Ellen Fitzpatrick

Mary Ellen Fitzpatrick was born on June 15, 1944, in Sibley, Iowa, to Keith and Eleanor (Geronsin) Walton. She married the love of her life, Donald Fitzpatrick on Nov. 15, 1969. They celebrated 44 years of marriage.Mary graduated from Sibley High School in 1963 and went to Minneapolis Business College where she graduated in 1964. Mary enjoyed having fun, dancing, and loved photography; she would always be found with a camera in hand. Her life was all about her family and friends. She worked in home health and enjoyed taking care of others. She enjoyed the entire holiday season, but Christmas was definitely her focus as Christmas music would be heard in July.Mary passed away peacefully in the morning of Oct. 10, 2015, at Fountain Springs Healthcare. Her life was devoted to her husband, children, and grandchildren. She is survived by her children, Keith (Dawn) Fitzpatrick of Outing, MN, Jay (Brian) Fitzpatrick-Terhaar of Encinitas, CA, and Donna (Jason) Gorman of Rapid City; and 10 grandchildren, Rustin, Natasha, Katherine, Jessica, Janae, Jordan, Michael, Thomas, Christopher, and Elizabeth. She is also survived by her three sisters, Lillian Walton and Ruth Obritsch of Hutchinson, MN, and Susan Stirler of Sibley, IA; her brother, Robert (Jan) Walton of Sibley, IA; and a special aunt, Aunt Jean (Floyd) Perna of Burnsville, MN. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Fitzpatrick; her parents; and her grandson, Patrick Gorman.
