Obituary For Mary Patricia 'Pat' Collins

Mary Patricia “Pat” Collins, Rapid City died Friday December 16, 2016 at Fountain Springs Healthcare Center. She was born March 25, 1936 to Ward and Ellen (Christiansen) White in Rapid City. She was raised on Cuny Table and in Rapid City.Pat married Albert Collins, Jr. on June 7, 1958 in Rapid City. For a period of time in the 60’s they resided in Inglewood, CA and eventually returned to Rapid City where they made their final home.Pat worked at Lucky’s grocery in Inglewood and Family Thrift Center in Rapid City for many years. Rounding out her career Pat worked at her sister LaVaughn’s consignment store, Peddlers Two until it was sold in 1992. She was a very hard and dedicated worker, sister and aunt. She enjoyed taking care of her husband Al, teaching her niece and nephew, who she helped raise, card games especially canasta and spending time with her extended family. Pat was the youngest of 9 children in her family.Pat is survived by her husband of 58 years Albert, her sister Ina Keester of Rapid City and relatives and friends too numerous to mention. She was preceded in death by her parents, 4 brothers and 3 sisters and Jacque their beloved poodle.
