Mildred M. Thompson, 93, New Hope, MN formerly of Rapid City,died Monday Oct. 19, 2009 at Rapid City Regional Hospital. She was born July 30, 1916 and raised in Parshall, ND. She met and married the love of her life, Elton Thompson in Milwaukee. After giving birth to sons Donald and Robert; Mildred and Elton operated Thompson’s Cottages in Detroit Lakes, MN for 30 years. They retired to Rapid City in 1993 and Mildred returned to Minnesota in 2007. Mildred is survived by her two sons, Robert (Janae Winegarden) Thompson, Maple Grove, MN; Donald (Suki) Thompson, Flint, MI; 5 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Elton, April 4, 2009 and her sister Dorothy Schemp.
