Obituary For Myrna Verna Pokorney
Myrna Pokorney, 80, Rapid City, was born August 25, 1935 and passed away June 3, 2016 at Fountain Springs Healthcare. Myrna was married to Bill Pokorney on February 17, 1955. They lived in Yankton, SD until 1981 when they moved to Rapid City. Myrna worked as a real estate agent beginning in Yankton in 1978. She continued practicing as a real estate agent once the family moved to Rapid City. She also began Frontier Property Management in Rapid City which she continued until her retirement in 2010. She received many honors as Millionaire Sales while working for Rossum and Neal in Rapid City.Myrna enjoyed her grandchildren, country music and a good dance at the German Tent. She was passionate about her family reunions with brothers and sisters, getting to see all of the new additions to her extended family. Myrna is survived by her daughters: Connie Weiss(Glenn Becker), Rapid City, Shelly (Mike) Van Buren, Billings, MT; sons: Doug (Jolaine) Pokorney, Rapid City, Jim (Linda) Pokorney, Sioux Falls; 9 grandchildren, Fran, Raschell, Jacque, Houston, Nicole, Jamie, Kristi, Sam and Sophie; 7 great grandchildren, Adelynn, Roslynn, Leelan, Jordan, Alexis, Emil and Emily; 2 brothers, Donald and Laverne Kirschenman and 1 sister, Melena Diede.She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill, son, Rick and grandson, Brandon Weiss, 2 sisters, Dora Mae Kirschenman and Orina Smith and 5 brothers, Wilmer, Delbert, Clarence, Elton and Lloyd.
