Obituary For Nancy Scena Dethlefs

Nancy Scena Dethlefs, 71, Rapid City, passed away Sunday, April 28, 2013 at Rapid City Regional Hospital. She was born in Huron to Nels and Margaret (McNutt) Hein on Sept 4, 1941. She attended school in Huron. Nancy was married to Larry Dethlefs on Feb 6, 1958 and they were married for 55 years. She worked as a master seamstress most of her life, most recently at Magic Moments Bridal Shop, in Rapid City until her retirement. Nancy loved to spend time with her grandchildren and her dog Zoey. She was an avid angel figurine collector and loved to bake. Nancy is survived by her husband Larry; her children, Brad (Jacque deceased), Rapid City; Travis (Nancy), Pipestone, MN; John (Laura deceased), Rapid City; Larri Ann ‘Missy’ (Rod) Cowan, Longview, TX; Raymond Emery, Rapid City; Greg Rassmussen, Beresford; 15 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sons, Milton and Leon; 2 sisters and 2 brothers. Graveside services will be 1:00 p.m., Monday, June 10, 2013 at Black Hills National Cemetery.
