Obituary For Naomi C. Meyer
Naomi C. Meyer, 92, Fort Collins, CO and formerly of Rapid City, died Tuesday Dec. 28, 2010 at the Good Samaritan Society Fort Collins Village, Fort Collins, CO. Naomi was born August 27, 1918 in Glendive, MT to George and Anna (Bell) Tinkey. In Naomi's early childhood, the family moved from Montana to Flandreau, SD. She received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education from Dakota State University, Madison, SD. Naomi married Marvin Meyer on May 19, 1941 in Watertown, SD. She taught at numerous schools in eastern South Dakota and in 1969 they moved from Volga, SD to Rapid City. Naomi then taught in Hill City until retiring from teaching. She then worked for Magnicraft, Black Hills Gold Creations and Symcom, all in Rapid City. Naomi moved to Fort Collins, CO in 2002 to be near her daughter, Beverly.She is survived by her daughter Beverly (Ted) Borstad, Fort Collins, CO; 2 sons, Kenneth ‘Mike’ (Gert) Meyer, Windom, MN; Thomas (Bev Dyas) Meyer, Frederick, MD, and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin, on April 15, 1992, and eight siblings.
