Obituary For Norma Gretel Pendo

Norma Gretel Pendo, 94, Rapid City, died Saturday, Feb. 14, 2015 at Westhills Village Health Care. She was born July 23, 1920 to Konrad and Antoinette (Wolf) Rothenbuecher in St. Louis, Missouri where she grew up, was educated, married, and became a mother. Norma lived in Lead and Sturgis, South Dakota for several years. In 1956 the family moved to Rapid City where her husband, Dr. George P. Pendo established his orthodontic dental practice. Norma was a traditional homemaker, enjoying cooking, baking, gardening, and especially sewing. She was a member of the Cathedral of Our Lady of Perpetual Help parish and was a lector for many years. She was a Life Member of Rapid City Regional Hospital Auxiliary where she was active in the sewing committee. Norma is survived by two sons, Michael A. Pendo, Atkin, MN, George (Gus) Pendo, New Underwood, SD and four daughters, Patti A. Hinkle, Yuma, CO, Lore M. Hoggatt, Sacramento, CA, Mina J. Wilson, Sacramento, CA, and Norma E Pendo-Knott Boynton Beach, FL; ten grandchildren; thirteen great- grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, and a special niece, Madie Abrolat, Wright City, MO. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband George, her sister Antoinette Abrolat, and granddaughter Michelle Keogh. The family wishes to acknowledge and thank Ron & Paula Clark, Peggy Digman, Kariss Englund, Orleen Peterson and Sr. Yvette Mallow OSB for their many kindnesses and helpfulness to Mom.
