Obituary For Olivia Perovich
Olivia Rosetta (Dennis) Perovich died Thursday, August 7, 2014, at Rapid City Regional Hospital.She was born November 25, 1923, to Hope(Baker) and Henry Dennis at Ashton, SD. They moved shortly after to farms in Stanley and Haakon Counties and to their own farm northwest of Midland, SD.Olivia was the oldest of 11 children. Her parents and six brothers preceded her in death. They were Kenneth (Elva), Leonard (Betty), LeRoy (Betty, Barbra), Ronald (Marguerite), Ivan (Mary, Grace Ann), and Gerald "PeeWee" (Diane). Those who have given up their time and love are Sadie (Bobby), Lyle and Bonnie, Howard (Butch) and Colleen, Judy Holt, and her own children, Sonny and Sandy Perovich, and Mary and Don SealockDaniel Perovich and Olivia Dennis were married June 4, 1943. To this union were four children that blessed their home; Conrad (Sandra), Mary (Don Sealock), Carolyn (Gary Lenhart) and Kim Daniel. Daniel passed away after 53 years of marriage on Oct. 6, 1995.Surviving are 12 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; numerous nephews, nieces, brother-in-law, John; and two sisters-in-law, Pauline and Sandy.Dan, Olivia and family were members of the Rapid Valley United Methodist Church. Their daughter Mary was the first to wed in the old church, followed by three others and the baptisms of their grandchildren.Their home was a welcome stopover for all relatives. Olivia cared for her mother-in-law for nearly 20 years, and yes, in Olivia’s words, “I miss her and all who have gone ahead to make a welcome for me.”
