Obituary For Pauline Arguello

Pauline (Perez) Arguello, 82, Rapid City, slipped quietly into the hands of the Lord on Saturday, January 26, 2008 at her home surrounded by loved ones. She had been battling several illnesses for an extended period of time.Pauline was born May 13, 1925 in Denver, CO to Paul and Maria Perez. Her parents had passed on by the time Pauline was 8 years old. She completed her formal education at a convent in Sioux City, IA before moving to Rapid City.She met her future loving husband, Emiliano Arguello in Rapid City and they were married in October, 1945. Over the next 62 years together, they raised a family including 8 children, 14 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren.Pauline has a wonderful sense of humor. She loved to write short stories, poetry and was a prolific letter writer. She was a great dancer, loved to sing and played several instruments. She also enjoyed crocheting and taking photos of family and friends. She found great comfort in her faith as a longtime Jehovah Witness.She is survived by her life-long partner, Emil, Rapid City; 5 daughters, Florence Grudniewski, Rapid City, Patricia (Jack) Hauser, Hillsboro, OR, Josephine (Richard) Grudniewski, Las Vegas, NV, LaVada (Tom) Goergen, Box Elder, Christine Arguello, Las Vegas, NV; 2 sons, Daniel Arguello, Rapid City, John Arguello, Grand Rapids, MI; 14 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; a brother, Feliz Elizalde, Castro Valley, CA; a brother in law, Jessie (Kathy) Arguello, whom she regarded as her 9th child; 3 sister in laws, a special family member, Loren Klingman, whom she also regarded as a son and many special, wonderful friends.She was preceded in death by a daughter, Anita Arguello, a granddaughter, Leah Mills, her beloved step father, Florentino Elizalde, her sister, Fern Perez and her brother, Joe Perez.
